Why Families Choose Advanced Nursing & Home Care

  • We know the VA system, not just care: between Aid & Attendance, VA Community Care Network requirements, and the paperwork that comes with both, we help families navigate the benefits side, not just the caregiving side.
  • Every caregiver is carefully screened: trained, vetted, and matched to your veteran’s specific needs before they ever walk through the door.
  • A care plan built around your family: not a standard package, but a plan shaped by what your veteran actually needs, medically and personally.
  • The same familiar faces, visit after visit: continuity matters, especially for veterans who’ve earned the right to not explain themselves over and over.
  • Family-owned since 1993: three decades caring for Montgomery County families, including the veterans and spouses who’ve trusted us with their care.

VA Benefits That May Help Cover Home Care

Between VA health care enrollment, service-connected disability status, and Aid & Attendance, it’s a lot to untangle on your own. That’s exactly what we help you figure out.

What Happens After
You Contact Us?

Call, and you’ll speak directly with a member of our care team — not a call center — who listens to what’s happening and what kind of help you’re looking for.

We assess your loved one’s medical needs, daily routine, and home safety. That’s what determines the right level of care — personal care, skilled nursing, or both.

Based on that plan, we match your loved one with a care provider or a licensed nurse suited to their specific needs and personality — never assigned at random.

Your care provider or nurse reviews the full care plan before their first visit, so nothing gets explained for the first time at your door.

Within 2–4 days of the first visit, our Client Satisfaction team checks in to confirm the care is the right fit and nothing has changed — then keeps checking in as needs do.

If your loved one’s needs change—a new diagnosis, a hospital stay, more hands-on help—your Staffing Coordinator adjusts the care plan rather than starting over.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Advanced Nursing & Home Care provides in-home care for eligible veterans throughout Montgomery County, Maryland, as a VA Community Care Network provider. Through the VA’s Homemaker and Home Health Aide program, eligible veterans can receive personal care at home from a community provider that contracts with the VA.

With VA Community Care, the VA authorizes a set number of home care hours through a contracted provider. Aid & Attendance is an additional monthly payment added to a VA pension for veterans and survivors who need help with daily activities. Those funds can help offset care costs, including care at home. Many families use one or the other, and some qualify for both.

Aid & Attendance is available to veterans and surviving spouses who already qualify for a VA pension and meet at least one care-related requirement, such as needing help with bathing, feeding, or dressing. The pension itself has requirements for wartime service, discharge status, income and net worth, and age or disability. We can help you understand where to start.

Eligible veterans and surviving spouses can receive our full range of services, including personal care, skilled nursing care, memory care, overnight care, respite care, and light housekeeping, laundry, and meal prep. Each plan is shaped by your veteran’s medical and personal needs.

No. You don’t need to determine eligibility before you call. If you already have a VA authorization, let us know. If you’re still sorting out which benefits apply, we’ll explain the services we provide, what information you may need, and what to ask your VA social worker or benefits representative.
